Objective
To create a new name and visual identity for the Graphic Design Program’s Capstone Event that captures both the structure of design fundamentals and the creative freedom students develop throughout the program. The branding was designed to feel modern, forward-thinking, and experimental, reflecting the transition from student work to professional practice. The goal was to develop a flexible identity system that could live across multiple formats while maintaining strong visual cohesion.
Process
Conceptually, the identity focuses on the balance between structure and creativity. The logo was built using grid-based shapes that shift and change to show how strong foundations can lead to more expressive design. A bold, geometric typeface was chosen to feel clean and modern while still fitting the playful nature of the visuals.
The colour palette was created to feel energetic and forward-looking, mixing strong contrast with soft gradients to add movement and interest. This approach reflects the design process itself, where clear rules meet creative experimentation.
